Islands. They

island style, past shops selling local arts
and crafts, small tavernas, cafes and discos.
Tinos is one of the
most interesting places of Greece, with great
natural beauty, interesting folklore and an
important religious centre for Greece. Andros
is gifted with important sightseeing, interspersed
all over the verdant landscape; and Syros
is unspoilt and relaxed, with
excellent landscapes and beaches. There
is an option to continue to Athens or to any
of the other Cyclades Islands.

Extension to Santorini
|
This
tour combines both the Dodecanese and the
Cyclades Islands. The
Islands include Kos, which is located just
off the Turkish coast. This pretty little
island was the site of one of the foremost
medical centres of ancient times. Astypalea
is a dramatically
scenic island, with its high cliffs, small
bays and clear waters. It is a traditional
Greek island, a good alternative for those
who want to escape the more touristy islands
but still want a bit of civilization. Amorgos
is a mountainous island with a steep and rocky
coastline and is visited by a large number
of tourists who come to the island to enjoy
the unspoiled natural environment, the crystal
waters of the sea, the rough beauty of the
landscape and the off the beaten track way
of life; and Naxos has a great variety of
things to offer to the visitor: it is an island
with impressive mountainous landscapes with
many isolated traditional villages, some of
Europe’s most beautiful golden sandy
beaches, a charming capital with its Venetian
quarter, picturesque fishing villages, many
Byzantine churches, and ancient ruins.
A possible extension includes the Cyclades
island of Santorini.
Santorini is today a stimulating and
intoxicating blend of excitement and culture,
together with stunning unforgettable views
of the caldera.

3 of Greece’s beautiful islands.
They include the
old city of Rhodes which is surrounded by
medieval walls. The Palace of Grand
Master and the Streets of the Knights should
not be missed; one of
the most stunningly beautiful of all Greek
Islands, little Symi, which lies just 23 miles
north of Rhodes, nestling inside a claw that
juts out from Turkey; and Kos
which is located just off the Turkish coast,
this pretty little island was the site of
one of the foremost medical centres of ancient
times. Or you
may decide to extend your stay and continue

Rhodes-(Halki)-Karpathos-(Kassos)-Crete
(or
vice versa)
|
There
are three main Islands that will be visited
in this Dodecanese Delights tour.
These Islands include Rhodes and
its huge Marina, where the Colossus of Rhodes
once stood and is now filled with yachts hoisting
flags from all over the world, the lively
beaches and many more great attractions this
island has to offer; Karpathos
has beaches scattered around the coasts and
are of great natural beauty. Some are
nestled in picturesque, secluded coves while
others extend over kilometres; and Crete
with its tall mountains, deep and cool gorges,
mysterious caves, fertile valleys, picturesque
villages, lush vegetation, steep cliffs, serene
coves and gentle climate.
Other options in this tour include visits
to the Island of Halki and Kassos.
Halki
is a hilly small island with golden sandy
beaches - just perfect for those who want
to spend a vacation away from the stress of
modern living. The
setting is delightful; pretty houses scattered
around a picturesque harbour side, fishing
boats at anchor, and a backdrop of rugged
mountains. Kassos
is located between the islands of Crete and
Karpathos. Its land is mountainous and its
coasts are abrupt and rocky. The waters of
its sea are rich in fish. It is a place that
attracts visitors who like vacations in an
intact natural environment.

Idyllic
Ionians
Zakynthos,
Kefalonia, Corfu, Paxi, Lefkada
|
|
Killini-Zakynthos-Kefalonia
(or
vice versa)
|
Killini,
our starting point, located to the west of
Patras on the Peloponnese coastline has daily
ferries departing to Zakythos. The
wonderful Ionian island of Zakynthos is a
beautiful green island in the Ionian Sea surrounded
by clear blue water.... Have a swim at the
wide sandy beaches in the company of sea turtles,
go snorkelling or scuba diving between rocks
and in underwater caves. Take a sailboat out
or go surfing. Make a trekking-tour in the
mountain-areas.Enjoy the great weather on
the sunniest island in the Mediterranean,
and let yourself be swept away by the rhythms
of Zakynthian
life, joining
the hospitable people of this island. Hydrofoils/Ferries
commute to Kefalonia via Poros or Argostoli.
Like
Zakynthos to the south, Kefallonia - where
Captain Corelli's Mandolin was filmed - is
a nesting ground for the loggerhead turtles
which lay their eggs on the southern beaches
in June, and the Mediterranean Monk Seal,
the rarest of seals and one of the six most
endangered mammals in the world. The main
influences of Kefallonia, like the rest of
the Ionian islands is Italian since the Venetians
controlled it for almost 300 years. These
influences can be found in the cuisine, architecture,
art, literature and music of the island and
in fact the Kefallonian's were playing the
mandolin at least two centuries before Corelli
picked it up. Here you will find Venetian
fortresses and quiet charming fishing villages.

Corfu-Paxi
|
Start
your island hopping in Corfu. Greece's greenest
(with 3
million olive trees!)
and most cosmopolitan island is famous for
its beautiful coastline, picturesque villages
and scenic countryside.
An
amalgam of natural beauties, traditional features
and archaeological sites. Corfu lies to the
north of the Ionian sea at the entrance of
the Adriatic. As well as the flower-strewn
countryside and Adriatic-style villages, it
has splendid coastal scenery and some excellent
secluded beaches.
A very pretty, green and mountainous
little pearl, Paxi offers wonderful beaches
and very hospitable people.
Mythology has it that the lovestruck
Poseidon created this island by striking Corfu
with his trident, so that he and his new wife
Amfitrite could have some peace and quiet.
The island has a captivating landscape of
gnarled, centuries-old olive groves, dry-stone
walled terraces, abandoned olive presses and
derelict farmhouses. Pebbled beaches dot the
east coast, while the more rugged western
side is marked by soaring white cliffs with
jagged grottoes and caves. Olive groves cover
around 80% of this extremely walkable island,
and the oil is reputed to be amongst Greece's
best. Take a day trip to Antipaxi where you
can enjoy the fine sandy beaches. There are
daily ferryboats between Paxi and Patras.
There are also connections with Igoumenitsa.

|
Skiathos-Skopelos
|
The
Sporades islands lie off the eastern shores
of the mainland of Greece and consists of
11 islands of which only 4 are inhabited.
Regular daily hydrofoils depart from the port
of Volos or Thessaloniki to either of these
islands or by plane to Skiathos. These
islands are for those who seek relaxation
and the experience of meeting with the locals.
These islands are green, idyllic and peaceful,
offering crystal clear water, numerous small
sandy beaches and pine trees stretching to
the sea.
There is a choice of local tavernas
and seafood restaurants by the sea.
Skiathos
is the best known of the Sporades islands,
and is a green densely wooded island with
some 70 inlets, several bays and harbours.
The islands beauty greets you the
moment you reach Skiathos town, the only settlement
of any size on this twenty square mile island.
Wherever you are on the island there
is always a good beach at hand.
The most famous is the superb and long
sandy beach at Koukounaries fringed by tall
pine trees giving the beach its name. Shops are plentiful, and the harbour is one of the finest in
the Aegean.
