Himalayas & the Golden Temple 12 days / 11 nights |
| Welcome to Himachal Pradesh, the 'land of snow', whose proximity to the heavens also sees it referred to as the 'land of the gods'. This, as the Himalaya raises its mighty head to gossip with the clouds, is easy to believe. The soft, natural beauty of the land is uplifting, regardless of the face it reveals the mood it in in. The verdant valleys of Himachal Pradesh are incomparable in offering a panoramic feast to tourists who flock to the state throughout the year. Easily accessible from the plains of northern India, the picturesque Shivalik Valley in the Kalka-Shimla region affords a breathtaking experience. | ||||||||

The Hills of Kumaon 12 days / 11 nights |
Kumaon was popular with the British Sahibs and their families as a summer retreat from the blistering heat that engulfed the plains. The gentle hills, lush valleys and mild weather reminded them of 'home'; the sloping, slate-roofed stone cottages with ivy-covered walls at many a 'hill station' step straight out of the English countryside. Ranikhet is still the headquarters of the Kumaon regiment of the old British Indian Army, while names such as Almora and Ramgarh conjure up images of romantic, cloud-shrouded little towns. But before going up into the hills, we traverse tiger country - the dense forests along the banks of the Ramganga River as it skirts the foothills of the might Himalaya that comprises the Corbett National Parl. |

Ladakh Monasteries & Mountains 9 days / 8 nights |
Nested in the Himalayas, Ladakh is one of the highest inhabited places in the world. It is renowned for its remote mountain beauty and Tibetan Buddhist culture, with more than 100 Gompas or monasteries; it is sometimes called 'Little Tibet'. The flight into Leh, the capital of Ladakh, is an unforgettable experience over the dramatic expanse of the Himalayas. This is the highest altitude desert with high snow-capped peaks and bare multi-hued hills, the River Indus and its tributaries slicing their way through the ranges. At an altitude of 14,000 feet, it is essential that you acclimatise yourself if the rarified air is not to overwhelm you. Accommodation is simple, even basic, but comfortable. |

Road to Ladakh 12 days / 11 nights |
Driving to Ladakh, it is good to keep in mind that you are on the highest motorable road in the world, and one that affords some breathtaking views of the 'roof of the world'. This road takes you through north eastern Himachal Pradesh and Lahaul Valley in the Rotang Pass. As you get higher the gentle greens of the verdant valley slowly give way to the harsh dry deserts of the higher altitude and the stark beauty of the painted mountains. This inaccessibility of the higher reaches of this region is what makes it so attractive; the accommodation is comfortable, but basic. There are few who venture here and, though the number is increasing, the unparalleled beauty of these mountains remains unspoiled and the lifestyle of the people still untouched by the modern age. |
