Itinerary
On arrival at Kathmandu Airport you will be met with a floral welcome and transferred to your hotel.
This morning you will enjoy a city tour of Kathmandu and then visit Swayambhunath, one of the oldest Buddhist stupas overlooking the entire Kathmandu Valley. In the afternoon, you will visit Hindu Temples and other impressive sites in Pashupatinath, Boudhanath and Bhadgaon. B
Today you have the option of boarding an early morning mountain flight over the Himalayas. The flights last for about an hour and you will have a close up view of the beauty of the Himalayas, including eight of the world’s highest mountain peaks. Later in the afternoon you will be driven to Patan City. Known as a paradise of fine arts, it is a city of Buddhist monuments, Hindu temples and fine wood carvings. B
Drive south of Kathmandu to Daman (2 hrs). At an altitude of 2400m Daman offers a breathtaking view of the world’s highest peaks from Dhaulagiri in the west to Mt Everest. This is an ideal place for relaxation and outdoor activities.
Drive to this small town of Hetauda (1 ½ hrs), situated at a moderate altitude of 500m and surrounded by lush green hills. Rest of the day at leisure.
Today you will go in search of orchids in Hetauda’s mountain ridges with a specialist orchid guide. You will also visit the historical towns of Makwanpurgadhi and Chisapanigdhi.
Drive to Bandipur (4 hrs), a semi – urban medieval town in Tanahu District, offering you a preserved, cultured atmosphere.
Day at leisure. You will be free to explore the cultural heritage and architecture of Bandipur and wander the stone-paved streets lined with the traditional houses. Visit the historic Bandipur library and Bindyabashini temple or visit Tundikhel, a field on the north of the town that provides an excellent view of some of the highest mountains in the world. Other places of interest include Thani Mai, Teendhara, Raniban, Siddha Cave reaches by a downhill trek and Ramkot villages.
Drive to the ancient town of Gorkha (2 hrs), an untouched and captivating place. It is home of the Gurkhas, the legendary warriors who fought with knives against guns. Visit the Gorkha Palace of King Prithivi Narayan Shah, the founder of the ‘Shah Dynasty’ which runs Nepal today.
Today you will be driven back to Kathmandu (4 hrs) and transferred to your hotel.
This morning you will be transferred to Kathmandu International Airport for your onward flight. B
