Introduction
Walk through the old Jewish neighbourhood, Galata. Visit the most prestigious synagogues of the city – Ashkenazi and Zulfaris. Then drive along the Golden Horn and through Balat, Istanbul’s first Jewish settlement, where you can see the Star of David on the façades of some buildings. Visit the Ahrida Synagogue, built in the 15th century, and the Jewish Cemetery in Ulus, before returning to the hotel.
Please note: All synagogue visits require advance permission from the officials and therefore guests are required to advise their full names and passport numbers at the time of booking and to carry their passports during the tour visits.
